Banana Bread Latte with Homemade Syrup
A cozy home café treat where ripe bananas are simmered down with brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon into a dreamy syrup that transforms your morning latte into something truly special.
Ingredients
- 2ripe bananas
- 50gsugar
- 125mlwater
- 1vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspooncinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoonnutmeg
- 500mlwhole milk
- 1 tablespoonespresso powder
- 60mlhot water
How to make it
Peel bananas and slice into rounds. Place in a saucepan with 125ml water and 50g sugar.
Simmer over medium heat for 8 minutes until bananas soften and dissolve slightly.
Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently on banana pieces.
Stir vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the warm syrup. Set aside.
Dissolve espresso powder in 60ml hot water and stir well.
Heat milk in a saucepan until steaming, whisking to create foam.
Pour espresso into two mugs, add 2 tablespoons banana syrup to each.
Top with hot steamed milk and foam. Stir gently and serve immediately.
